The exercise of choice for many...Hiking.
How many calories one burns while hiking will vary according to a persons body weight. In general, the more you weigh, the more calories you will burn. According to mayoclinic.com a 160-lb. person burns 438 calories an hour hiking. At 200 lbs., that number increases to 546 calories. If you weigh 240 lbs., you can burn 654 calories an hour.
I am not a hiker, you say. I am a runner. A 160-lb. runner burns 986 calories. At 200 lbs. you can burn 1,229 calories, and at 240 lbs. you can burn 1,472 calories.
If running/jogging is to difficult try brisk or power walking to burn off fat. Regardless if you are a hiker or a runner, workout frequency is key to burning fat. A minimum of 30 minutes/day of cardio activity is recommended.
We have said it in previous articles on health, don't be the person who puts their health on the back burner until the new year. Then make a resolution and never follow through with it. Don't be lazy about your health. Get serious, take control and start a program that suites your ability.
Start slow but challenge yourself all the way to better health.
